The WorldFish Center is an international, non-profit research organization dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger by improving fisheries and aquaculture. WorldFish is one of 15 members of the Consortium of International Agricultural Research Centers supported by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). The CGIAR is a global partnership that unites organizations engaged in research for sustainable development with the funders of this work. The funders include developing and industrialized country governments, foundations, and international and regional organizations.

Research Assistant Calabarzon & Mimaropa - Los BaƱos, Laguna
Responsibilities:
- Assist the project leader and other experts in the roll out of the Aquatic Agricultural Systems Project in the Philippines;
- Assist in compiling research data; coordinating research activities including and liaising with research partners and stakeholders; and developing data base management system for the project
- Conduct literature reviews, data sourcing/mining, collation and analysis
- Assist project leader in the development and preparation of progress, technical and final reports of the project’s key activities
- Assist in planning and conducting conferences, workshops, trainings and stakeholder consultations as part of the project design for the roll out of AAS
- Assist in packaging proposals for both bilateral and international funding for AAS component activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Biology, and Economics or equivalent
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Required skill(s): Proficient in the use of MS Excel and MS Word.
- At least 5 year(s) of work experience in research preferably in an international organization (preference will be given to candidates with experience in a nonprofit international organization).
- Should have experience in handling or coordinating projects in different regions in the Philippines especially in Visayas and Mindanao
- Team player, good database management skills, analytical.
